Deputies confront barricaded suspect during Oakland Park incident
A man with a knife was reported in an apartment building in the 800 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park, Florida. The incident was reported shortly before 6 p.m. on May 29, 2026.
Broward County Regional Communications dispatched deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue to the location. The suspect entered a residence and secured himself inside, prompting authorities to evacuate neighboring apartments as a precaution.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office deployed its K‑9, SWAT, and Violent Crimes units to the scene. No injuries have been reported at this time.
