Pair arrested in connection with armed home invasion robbery in Miami, cops say

Police arrest two individuals involved in Miami home robbery.

In Miami, authorities arrested two men for an armed robbery that occurred on April 4. The suspects, 25‑year‑old Earl Gerry Baldwin and 21‑year‑old Zakis Kawone James, entered the victim’s house through an unlocked door while wearing ski masks. Police say Baldwin pointed a handgun at the victim, demanded money, and stole his iPhone 16 Pro Max. Both men searched the residence for cash but fled after finding none, leaving the victim inside his mother’s bedroom. The victim escaped to a neighbor’s home and called the police.

Surveillance footage from surrounding businesses showed the pair exiting a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer and walking toward the house before the robbery. The vehicle was later seen driving away, and license‑plate data linked it to a residence on Northwest 65th Street. Additional video confirmed Baldwin inside the SUV and later placed James in the vehicle while he made a purchase at a nearby Walmart.

On Thursday, detectives obtained a search warrant, took both suspects into custody, and charged them with armed robbery with home invasion. They are currently held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bond dates pending.
