Miami suspect charged in seven more package theft incidents, police confirm.
A man named Jeyner Francisco Monzon, 22, was arrested on May 28 for thefts that began with an Amazon package theft on April 16 near Miami. Police were alerted when a homeowner noticed that several packages delivered earlier in the morning were missing. Ring doorbell footage showed an unknown individual arriving on a black bicycle at 11:44 a.m., stealing the packages, placing them in a black backpack, and leaving eastbound. The suspect was identified through a “Need‑to‑Identify” flyer and matched the description in the video.
After Monzon’s apprehension, additional victims reported similar package thefts that occurred between March and May. The stolen items included groceries, speakers worth approximately $1,000, and dog supplies, with total losses near $111 for the initial incident. Monzon was taken to Miami Police Headquarters for questioning and is now housed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Miami Police urge residents who suspect they were victims of package theft to file reports with the General Investigations Unit at 305‑603‑6030. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Miami‑Dade Crime Stoppers at 305‑471‑8477. The investigation remains active, and authorities are continuing to seek additional evidence.
