Officer Sustains Injury During SUV T‑Bend Accident in Miami.

A Miami police officer was taken to the hospital after a vehicle collision that occurred around 3:20 a.m. near Southwest Seventh Street and 12th Avenue. The officer was on a routine dispatch when his patrol car was struck from the side by a silver SUV. Emergency responders transported the wounded officer to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Hospital officials reported that he has multiple fractures but is conscious and presently stable.

The identities of the officers involved and the vehicle occupants have not yet been released. Police are reviewing evidence to determine whether the driver of the SUV was operating the vehicle unsafely or under the influence. No formal charges have been announced, and the driver’s health status remains unknown.

Investigators have begun collecting witness statements and traffic camera footage to establish the sequence of events that led to the incident. The case is being monitored closely by the Miami Police Department until additional information is available.
