Miami festival shooting footage shows casualties and emergency response
On Sunday night around 11:30 p.m., gunfire erupted near the main stage of the Taste of Miami Karnival, situated at the intersection of Northeast 62nd Street and Second Avenue. Video released by authorities shows the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
Three people were shot and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Two of the victims are reported to be recovering. A 23‑year‑old man named Kitchner Cyrlle died at the scene. Family members have confirmed that one of the wounded is Cyrlle’s cousin, who has undergone stomach surgery.
Police are actively searching for the individual who opened fire. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact the Miami Police Department or Miami‑Dade Crime Stoppers.
The family of the deceased has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical and associated expenses. The fundraiser is publicly available online.
