Alex Cooper says social media spat with Alix Earle is ‘not a PR stunt’ – NBC 6 South Florida

Alex Cooper disputes Alix Earle disagreement, denies promotional motive

The debate between podcast host Alex Cooper and TikTok creator Alix Earle resurfaced on Monday when Cooper posted a video on TikTok accusing Earle of re‑sharing “passive‑aggressive” posts. The video, which called for a direct response, was followed by Cooper’s claim that Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna LaPaglia was adding fuel to the story. Cooper’s post went live on April 9, 2026, and generated a rapid exchange of statements on both platforms.

Earle, who has 8.4 million TikTok followers and 5.5 million Instagram followers, reacted to the accusation by sharing a video of a friend’s reaction and commenting “Wait, that just literally made my whole day.” She has not posted a direct rebuttal. The two have previously worked together, with Earle signing for Cooper’s Unwell Network in 2023 before leaving the company later that year.

In response to the accusation about LaPaglia, Cooper posted Instagram stories that included screenshots of friendly direct messages, stating that the relationship was not adversarial. LaPaglia replied in a TikTok video asserting she had met Cooper through Barstool and that her opinions about Cooper were based on personal experience, adding that she has no authority to explain the alleged events at a 2024 Super Bowl.

Representatives for Cooper, Earle, LaPaglia and their affiliated companies declined to comment at the time of reporting.
