Small plane flips in Homestead during hard landing.
A small aircraft overturned after a hard landing at the Pilot Training Center in Homestead, Florida, Sunday morning. Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue crews arrived at 28,790 SW 217th Ave. and found the plane tipped over, with its sole occupant—a student pilot—reportedly unharmed. Communications Director Greg Chin of the Miami‑Dade Aviation Department said the aircraft flipped during braking when it landed.
The incident occurred on Saturday and was confirmed the following day. No additional information about the aircraft’s type or the pilot’s status beyond the absence of injuries has been released. State and local aviation authorities have not issued further statements or updates.
A separate small‑plane crash occurred the day before on the campus of a psychiatric hospital near North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines. That aircraft carried two women who were extracted from the wreckage and treated at a nearby medical center as trauma alerts. No further details have been released regarding their identities or medical conditions.
