Meghan Trainor Issues Apology to Fans After Show Cancellation.
Meghan Trainor announced on April 16 that she is canceling her “Get In Girl Tour,” a decision she said was made after reflecting on family commitments.
The tour was scheduled to begin on June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, and finish on August 15 in Los Angeles, comprising 33 shows across the United States and Canada.
Trainor cites the release of her forthcoming album “Toy With Me,” due April 24, and the arrival of her third daughter, Mikey Moon Trainor, as reasons for stepping back. She noted that managing a new album, a nationwide tour, and a growing family of five would be too demanding at present.
The canceled tour had originally featured opening acts Icona Pop and her brother Ryan Trainor. Fans were thanked for their support, and Trainor indicated that the album would still be released as planned.
Her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, and Trainor welcomed Mikey Moon via surrogate in January. Their children are Riley, 5, and Barry, 2.
The announcement came shortly after Trainor posted the track list for “Toy With Me.” No refund or rescheduling information has been released.
