Woman Accused of Stealing $210,000 from South Florida Senior
In December 2024, police in Coconut Creek, Florida, filed an arrest report alleging that 75‑year‑old Sandra White stole more than $210,000 from an 87‑year‑old former caregiver client. White forged a check on January 16 of the same year and deposited it at a local bank. Following the deposit, authorities reported a series of cash withdrawals, including multiple trips to the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek and Isle Casino, now known as Harrah’s Pompano Beach. Bank of America restored the withdrawn funds to the victim’s account, leaving the bank without the $210,000.
Investigators discovered in July 2024 that White had sold her South Florida residence and moved to Athens, Illinois. She was apprehended by Broward County authorities in Illinois and returned to Florida. White faces an elderly exploitation charge. She was arrested and detained at the Menard County jail before being transferred to the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach.
White’s bond was set at $15,000. She is scheduled for release after posting the bond, although she remains charged. No further information has been released regarding the outcome of the case.
