Snorkeler Killed After Boat Collision Near Broward State Park, 31 Local Woman

A 31‑year‑old American Airlines flight attendant from South Florida was found dead on a Broward County beach after a suspected boat‑strike incident. Officials say the victim, Kellie Melinda Williams, had been snorkeling near Dr. Von D. Mizell‑Eula Johnson State Park in Dania Beach when she disappeared Wednesday evening. Two fishermen reported seeing her in the surf at about 8 p.m. The body later washed ashore at Hollywood Beach, where witnesses confirmed it had been pulled from the water.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators confirmed the head and body injuries were consistent with a vessel strike. The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the cause of death a blunt‑force injury. Authorities appealed for witnesses or anyone with additional information to contact the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888‑404‑3922.

Williams lived in South Florida, was a recent college graduate, and had resided in the area for several years. The investigation remains active, and a full report will be released via public records once the case is closed. The agency expressed condolences to her family and loved ones.
