Sid Krofft, a Canadian‑born producer and puppeteer best known for the 1960s children’s series “H.R. Pufnstuf,” died on Tuesday at the age of 96. The death was announced by longtime friend and business partner Kelly Killian on Instagram, who noted that the final six years of Krofft’s life had been devoted to their partnership. No additional details were immediately released.

Krofft and his brother Marty pioneered a range of television programs that blended live action with puppetry. Earlier productions also brought the Osmond siblings to television through the “Donny & Marie” show.

In 2018, the brothers received a Daytime Emmy Award for lifetime achievement, followed by a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2020. Their legacy is remembered for its influence on children’s entertainment and pop culture across several decades.
