Woman busted for brazen baby formula thefts in Hialeah, North Miami Beach

Hialeah Parents Capture Teen Nabbed Stealing Infant Formula

An 18‑year‑old from West Park has been arrested in Hialeah on charges of shoplifting baby formula. Police identified Tanaijah Leanna Mason as the primary suspect in a series of thefts that occurred in March 2026. On March 5, prosecutors said Mason and two other women entered a Sedanos supermarket on 3950 W 12th Ave and removed approximately $1,500 of formula without paying. Later that day the group attempted a similar heist at a Publix in Hialeah; when confronted, they fled the scene.

Four days after the first incident, authorities in North Miami Beach reported that another group of four women stole formula from a Target at 14705 Biscayne Boulevard. Police determined the same modus operandi was used in the Hialeah and North Miami Beach takes. An arrest record indicated that Mason had already been taken into custody for similar offenses across Miami‑Dade County.

Additional complaints have been filed in Broward County and Miramar, but investigations are ongoing to confirm whether the same individuals were involved. Mason is currently held on charges related to the formula thefts and the case remains open while authorities pursue further evidence.
