Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie Set to Return to TODAY Desk
Savannah Guthrie announced on “TODAY” that Hoda Kotb will fill in for co‑anchor Craig Melvin during his spring‑break leave beginning April 13. The announcement came after an update that Gibbs’ co‑anchor will host the program for that period.
Kotb first appeared in the role in January 2025 after announcing her departure from the show. The two were co‑anchors for seven years before Kotb’s move to a different role within the NBC Station.
Kotb and Guthrie’s return as a pair will be the first time they share the desk together since January 10, 2025, when Kotb last hosted the show. They had previously been the first all‑female duo to host “TODAY” when Kotb joined the program in 2018.
Kotb had served as replacement for Guthrie during a two‑month absence in early 2024, when Guthrie was away following her mother’s disappearance. Guthrie resumed regular duties on April 6, 2026, alongside Melvin and the rest of the “TODAY” team.
