Four Detained After Police Chase Restores Stolen U.S. Mail Key and Checks
A burglary occurred Tuesday night at 4901 Shalimar Lane, a gated community in Davie, Florida. Surveillance footage captured four masked men breaking into a mailroom and using a U.S. Postal Service arrow key to access mailboxes. After stealing an estimated $10,000 in personal checks, the group fled in a gray 2018 BMW X3.
The vehicle exited the complex, struck a patrol car, and then returned to the premises where the suspects abandoned the car and ran. Davie police subsequently arrested the men at 5158 South University Drive and nearby on South University Road.
The arrested individuals are Guston Malheur, 20; Jamsley Jean, 22; Tyroneian Lee, 31; and Emannuel Mondelus, 21. Each faced multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools, and resisted arrest. The arrests were completed at the Davie Police Department; all four suspects are currently in custody pending further court proceedings.
