Woman in Queens Faces Charges After Incident with Florida Police

A 49‑year‑old woman from Astoria, Queens, was arrested at Miami International Airport after an altercation on a domestic flight on Wednesday evening. Police reported that after a verbal disagreement with flight attendants, the passenger appeared intoxicated, prompting crew members to arrange for her to be rebooked.

When Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies approached to escort the passenger from the jetway, the individual pushed away and then, while being led off, delivered a series of heel kicks to a deputy’s thigh, causing the officer to step back. Investigators recorded that the passenger attempted to refuse interview after the incident.

The arrested woman now faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. She is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a $2,500 bond.

The case remains under active investigation by the Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office.
