Mandalorian and Grogu Lead Billboard Rankings, Obsession Follows.

“Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” premiered in U.S. and Canadian theaters on Memorial Day weekend and generated $82 million in ticket sales from 4,300 venues. By Monday, domestic grosses were projected at $102 million and a global total of $165 million, according to studio estimates. The film’s $165‑million production cost, significantly lower than previous Disney‑era Star Wars titles, places it closer to the performance of “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” which earned $103 million over its Memorial Day frame in 2018.

The movie features Pedro Pascal as a bounty hunter and a small green alien companion, with Jeremy Allen White providing the voice of a Hutt character. Critical reception has been mixed, but audience surveys show strong approval: an A‑CinemaScore overall, an A from boys under 13, and a five‑star PostTrak rating from parents.

During the same period, other releases such as “Obsession” and “Michael” ranked second and third in domestic earnings, with “Obsession” reporting a 30% increase in its second weekend. The Memorial Day four‑day box‑office total was estimated at $211 million, down roughly 36% from last year’s $330 million.
