West Miami‑Dade Fires Persist Along Highway 41 Corridor

A brush fire has burned 450 acres in the western portion of Miami‑Dade County. The incident began on Saturday and has been named the Highway 41 Fire. Authorities report the blaze is located west of Tamiami Trail, beyond Krome Avenue.

By Tuesday morning, thick smoke was visible several miles west of the Miccosukee Casino. Smoke plumes have impacted local air quality, prompting officials to advise residents in the affected area to remain indoors, especially those with respiratory concerns.

Fire and rescue crews have deployed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. Suppression efforts continue, with additional resources allocated from nearby departments.
