Deerfield Beach law enforcement tracks suspect captured stealing mail
A woman was captured on a security camera entering residential mailboxes at 3910 Crystal Lake Drive in Deer Island Beach, Florida, early Saturday morning. The footage shows the intruder using an unidentified tool to break the mailboxes, taking a handful of letters, and then leaving in a car. The incident was observed by resident Megan Weller, who posted the video online and reported that the theft occurred in the first hours of the day. The woman’s identity is not known, but the video clearly shows her on the property and the act of removal of mail.
The theft prompted residents in the building to lodge formal complaints with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact the sheriff’s office or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954‑493‑TIPS. The case remains under investigation, and no further evidence has been released at this time.
