Miami Beach truck driver fatally hits pedestrian crossing street
A box truck driver struck a woman crossing the street in Miami Beach, causing her death, authorities reported. The collision occurred at about 1:27 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of West 41st Street and Royal Palm Avenue. Police said the victim was in the crosswalk when the driver turned left onto 41st Street, striking her.
Surveillance footage captured bystanders rushing to assist the victim as emergency services arrived on scene. Paramedics administered life‑saving measures after she was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. The patient later died at the hospital.
Miami Beach Police are continuing an investigation into the incident. Officials have not released the names of the driver or the victim, nor announced whether criminal charges will be filed. The status of the investigation remains ongoing.
