D4vd Arrested for Killing Celeste Rivas Hernandez
A 21‑year‑old Los Angeles resident identified as singer‑songwriter David Burke, known on TikTok as D4vd, was taken into custody on Thursday for suspicion of murder. Police said Burke was apprehended near his home on Marmont Avenue in the Hollywood Hills after a warrant was executed. He is being held without bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
The arrest follows the discovery of the decomposed remains of 14‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle was impounded after neighbors reported it had been abandoned in a Hollywood Hills parking space for more than a month. Workers at the Los Angeles tow yard found the body on September 8, 2025, a day after Rivas’s 15th birthday.
LAPD investigators stated that the case will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for review. The DA’s office confirmed it is aware of the arrest and will determine whether to file charges after evaluating the evidence.
Burke’s attorneys have issued a statement asserting that the suspect has not been indicted and will defend his client’s innocence. The investigation remains active, and no further charges have been announced.
