Miami walk aims to break mental health stigma

Miami activists head to streets to end mental‑health stigma.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) held its sixth annual Walk for Mental Health Awareness on Saturday morning in Miami. The event took place at loanDepot Park in the Little Havana neighborhood of the city.

Organizers reported a turnout of community members and local leaders, with the walk designed to reduce mental health stigma.

Miami mayor Eileen Higgins and Miami‑Dade county mayor Daniella Levine Cava attended, along with professional athlete Keshad Johnson of the Miami Heat.

NAMI stated that the walk was part of a broader campaign to increase mental health awareness in the region. No injuries or incidents were reported during the event.

The organization encourages participants to visit its website for information on future NAMI activities.
