Cher seeks guardianship for son, law action begins.
Cher has filed a new financial conservatorship petition in Los Angeles Superior Court, requesting temporary control of her 49‑year‑old son Elijah Blue Allman’s trust fund. The request follows Allman’s recent hospitalization at a psychiatric facility and two New Hampshire arrests. He was arrested on Feb. 27 for assault and disorderly conduct at a school in Concord, and later that month for burglary and mischief in Windham.
Allman’s trust, established by his late father Greg Allman, provides regular distributions. Cher alleges the money is spent on drugs and that Allman has accumulated significant debts, including $50,000 in Airbnb damage and $18,000 to a dealer. He also reportedly owes $200,000 in unpaid taxes and spousal support.
Cher seeks a neutral third‑party conservator to manage the trust distributions until Allman is deemed capable of handling money independently. This differs from her 2023 petition, which was denied after a court found Allman drug‑free at the time. The current filing describes Allman’s behavior as “appalling” and requests that he be prevented from accessing funds until his mental state improves.
