Dylan Carter, Voice Season 24 Contestant, Killed in Vehicle Accident

Dylan Carter, 24, died in a vehicular accident on April 25, 2026, in Colleton County, South Carolina. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that at about 11:22 p.m. the car he was driving left the roadway, struck a curb, a utility pole and a fence, and overturned. Carter was the sole passenger and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Carter was known regionally as a country singer who competed on “The Voice” Season 24 in 2023. He attended the show’s auditions in September 2023, performing “I Look to You” by Whitney Houston, and received a standing ovation from coaches Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Niall Horan. He was eliminated in the Battle Rounds that season.

Beyond music, Carter worked as a realtor and co‑owned Sunny Days RV & Campground in South Carolina. He co‑founded the nonprofit The Local Voice, a women’s breast‑cancer organization, in 2024.

His passing was first announced by The Local Voice on Sunday, and the mayor of Moncks Corner, Thomas Hamilton Jr., released a statement expressing condolences and noting Carter’s role as an entertainer for community events. The incident has been classified as a fatal road incident, and authorities will continue the investigation.
