Victim’s Stolen Items Pawoned, Neighbor Identified as Suspect

Elvin Baltazar, 44, was arrested in North Miami Beach on Thursday after Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies linked him to the sale of a neighbor’s burglary‑stolen goods. Investigators say the victim lived just five houses down from Baltazar and was burglarized while away between December 16, 2025 and January 28, 2026.

According to sheriff’s officials, Baltazar transported the items to A New Hocke Shoppe at 754 NE 167th St. The shop, located just outside North Miami Beach city limits, reported that Baltazar presented the goods—including two Rolex watches—as his own.

Deputies state the sales occurred between January 13 and February 23, and by the time detectives located the pawnbroker, many items had already been sold or dismantled.

Baltazar claimed a friend named “William” had given him the property to sell and he received $500 from him. He faces 32 felony counts, including nine for giving false information to a pawnbroker and 23 for dealing in stolen property. His bond status is listed as “to be set” in the Miami‑Dade jail record.
