Lizzo isn’t afraid of the truth coming out in harassment lawsuit – NBC 6 South Florida

Lizzo faces harassment lawsuit, remains confident about outcome.

The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in August 2023 by former backup dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodríguez, who claim sexual harassment, weight‑shaming, and a hostile work environment by singer Lizzo. The case remains pending, though a judge in December 2025 dismissed the weight‑shaming allegation. Lizzo’s legal team moved to dismiss the suit in October 2023, and the artist has stated that she maintains she was never fired for weight concerns.

During a TODAY interview on June 5, 2026, Lizzo said she has “victories” in the case and that she intends to continue fighting all remaining claims. She emphasized that she would not settle and plans to release new music while her dispute proceeds. The singer also clarified that she has no regrets about her handling of the situation, according to the interview.

In addition to the dancers’ lawsuit, a separate suit was filed in New Jersey on the same day by former tour designer Asha Daniels. The complaint alleges bullying, harassment, and racial discrimination by Lizzo and tour staff, including remarks from a wardrobe manager, and claims that Daniels was dismissed after raising concerns.

Lizzo has performed new material in public, including a recent performance at Rockefeller Plaza during the Citi Concert Series, and has stated she will translate her experiences into her upcoming album. The status of both lawsuits remains unresolved.
