Baldoni’s Legal Team Moves to Prevent Lively’s Damages Claim
Justin Baldoni’s legal representatives filed a motion Friday asking U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman to dismiss any future filings regarding Blake Lively’s claim for attorney’s fees and compensatory damages connected to the “It Ends With Us” dispute. The request follows a settlement announced earlier in the week, although the terms were not disclosed and a source confirmed that no payment was exchanged.
Baldoni’s attorneys argue that Lively has already resolved her outstanding claims without the participation of Baldoni or his production company, Wayfarer, and that the court’s prior rulings should end the litigation. They contend that Lively failed to justify additional arguments after the court had sufficient information to rule on her requests under California Civil Code § 47.1, which protects whistleblowers.
Lively’s legal team has asked the court to consider the impact of earlier decisions on her fee claims, while Baldoni’s team maintains the matter is a narrow issue. The countersuit filed by Baldoni in January 2025 was dismissed by Judge Liman, and most of Lively’s claims were likewise rejected. The case remains formally closed except for the pending fee dispute.
