Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily, posted a joint video on Instagram on July 8 announcing that the couple had settled the legal dispute with former co‑star Blake Lively. The settlement follows a May 4 agreement that was reached before the trial slated for 2025. No monetary payment has been disclosed, and a source cited by NBC News said that “no money changed hands” in the final accord.
Lively’s lawsuit, filed in December 2024, alleged that Baldoni created a hostile work environment on the set of the film It Ends With Us and that he orchestrated a campaign to damage her reputation. She is seeking legal fees of $8 million, and her lawyers filed a court motion on June 30 requesting the payment. Baldoni has denied Lively’s claims and filed a counter‑lawsuit that was dismissed in June 2025.
A U.S. District Judge, Lewis Liman, dismissed ten of Lively’s thirteen claims in May, including harassment, defamation, and conspiracy. The dismissal left five claims pending.
In the Instagram video, Baldoni and Emily emphasized a process of “healing” and gratitude, but did not name Lively or the film. They highlighted family and community support as key to their recovery.
The couple’s statement is the first public commentary from either party in nearly two years, and the settlement is now considered final under the terms announced by their respective teams.
