Emergency teams free veteran cyclist trapped beneath trolley in Miami
A 77‑year‑old man was trapped under a trolley on Northwest 17th Street near Third Avenue in Miami at approximately 8:41 a.m. Sunday. Emergency responders from Miami Fire Rescue arrived to find the cyclist pinned beneath the vehicle. The incident occurred in the early morning rush hour, with the trolley partially wedged against the curb.
Miami Technical Rescue Team mobilized quickly, employing an air bag system to lift the trolley. The team successfully freed the man from underneath and secured him for transport. He was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Authorities have not released details regarding how the cyclist became trapped. No injuries were reported among first‑responder crew.
