Coral Springs hosts peace march to honor Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer

On Saturday, Coral Springs held a public peace walk in honor of Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer, 38, who recently passed away. The walk took place along a downtown garden as city officials, employees, and neighbors gathered.

Metayer was a lifelong resident of Coral Springs and had served in the city council for several terms. Her sudden death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from many in the community.

Mayor Scott Brook led the procession and reviewed Metayer’s contributions to city governance. Commissioner Joe McHugh also joined, and officials shared recollections of her service during the walk.

Citizens expressed sorrow over the loss of a public servant they described as warm and supportive. The city planned to hold a memorial service later in the month to honor her memory.

No cause of death was disclosed. The city remains engaged in supporting the community during this period of mourning.
