Man faces DUI manslaughter charge for crash that killed friend on I-95

Man charged with manslaughter after I‑95 crash kills friend.

A fatal crash occurred on April 3 near the I‑95 and I‑595 interchange in Broward County, Florida. Traffic police report that 33‑year‑old Aaron McCullough of Tamarac lost control of a silver 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, driving northbound. The vehicle veered across all lanes and struck the guardrail, causing both occupants to be thrown into the windshield.

McCullough and an unidentified passenger were transported to Broward Health Medical Center. The passenger was pronounced dead at the hospital, while McCullough survived the impact. A blood test revealed a blood‑alcohol concentration well above the legal limit; prosecutors say it remained over the limit for more than five hours.

Investigators linked McCullough’s impaired state to a nightclub visit earlier that night, where a ticket record indicates he purchased a bottle of tequila around 9:30 p.m.

McCullough was arrested on Thursday and is now charged with DUI manslaughter and DUI causing property damage. He remains in custody without bond pending further court proceedings.
