Will Forte, known for his work on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and the upcoming Netflix series “The Four Seasons,” recounted a recent misstep with his wife, Olivia Modling, during a video call while he was filming another project.
The couple had maintained regular FaceTime conversations while he was away, but Forte said his tone during this particular call was off. Modling appeared in the video with newly cut bangs, a change she had not told him about. When Forte inquired about the haircut, the exchange became awkward.
Modling’s brief replies prompted Forte to describe the bangs as a resemblance to a “Spock” wig, mentioning that the timing of the haircut was close to Halloween. He quickly realized his comment was inappropriate and ended the call before he could explain himself further.
Shortly afterward, Modling texted him a brief message that implied a divorce threat. Forte replied with humor, to which Modling responded simply with “divorce.” The couple later clarified that the situation was resolved and that they remain together with their two daughters.
Forte reflected that the incident highlighted the importance of communication in a marriage.
