Fort Lauderdale Grocery Worker Fires Shots After Dispute With Man

A 44‑year‑old woman was arrested on June 8 after shooting at a man and his vehicle in Fort Lauderdale. The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. outside Primo’s Stop, a convenience store on 2420 NW 19th Street, near Rock Island Elementary School. Police said the victim had entered the store while the woman was working, engaged in a verbal dispute, and left with a vehicle. When the man returned, the woman exited the store and discharged a pistol at him and his car. No injury was reported; the vehicle sustained multiple bullet holes and the child inside was unharmed.

The suspect, identified as Latoya Shanee Friday, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Friday was taken into custody by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and is being held at the Broward Sheriff’s Office Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach on a $30,000 bond.

The case is under investigation by local authorities. The incident was reported the following day and updated information regarding the suspect’s status was released on June 9.
