Epstein Files Show Contents Of Released Documents

The U.S. Department of Justice began publishing records related to the former financier Jeffrey Epstein on Friday. The release includes thousands of documents, such as photographs, call logs, grand jury testimony, interview transcripts, and video footage from the Metropolitan Correctional Center for the day of Epstein’s suicide.

Some of the photographs feature former President Bill Clinton, who was known to travel on Epstein’s private jet. The images show Clinton on a private plane, in a pool with Ghislaine Maxwell, and in a hot tub; no allegations of misconduct arise from the photos and the documents contain no statements linking Clinton to Epstein’s crimes.

The DOJ warned that, because of the volume of material, some sensitive personal information may have escaped immediate redaction. It invited the public to notify the department of any disclosure that should be corrected.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said the release demonstrates unprecedented transparency and praised the administration for cooperating with congressional oversight.

The website hosting the files employed a queue system to manage traffic, allowing users ten minutes of access once their turn arrived.
