Dolly Parton withdraws from Las Vegas residency amid health concerns
Dolly Parton announced the cancellation of her Las Vegas residency scheduled for December at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. The 80‑year‑old country singer said she is dealing with health issues that affect her balance and energy levels. She explained that medications and treatments are helping her recover, but the side effects make stage performance difficult at the moment.
Parton has not provided specific medical details, noting only that kidney stones and recent digestive and immune system problems have been factors over the past three years. Doctors have confirmed that her conditions are treatable.
She remains active in other projects, including the opening of a museum and hotel in Nashville and a Broadway musical slated for later this year. The residency had been postponed earlier in the year after she first revealed health challenges.
Parton is not touring currently; her last national tour ended in 2016. The decision to cancel the Las Vegas shows comes after the president of Caesars Palace confirmed the dates were removed from the schedule. No further dates have been announced.
