Grab Savings on Food as Tax Day Arrives April 15
Tax Day, April 15, saw a range of restaurants and brands across the United States launch promotional offers to reward customers after filing taxes. The promotions were nationwide and available from local fast‑food chains to specialty coffee trucks.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse offered a $10 discount on online orders over $40 when customers used the code TAXDAY on the same day. Mountain Mike’s Pizza and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit provided comparable savings of $10 off orders over $40 and $50 respectively, accessed through their loyalty or app systems.
The food chain sector also introduced unique perks. Bluewater Grill sold handcrafted cocktails for $10.40, saving up to $5 per drink. Checkers & Rally’s highlighted a $3 Big Buford burger and a $5 MVP Meal Deal that included a sandwich, fries, beverage, and apple pie. Del Taco promoted a free Snack Taco with every $5 purchase and buy‑one‑get‑one offers on fish tacos and grilled chicken tacos.
Other brands provided loyalty‑based incentives. Olive Garden’s Buy One, Take One promotion continued through May 3, while Paris Baguette gave a free pastry to rewards members who bought a beverage on April 15. Portillo’s gave a one‑dollar cake slice to rewards members who spent $5 between April 13 and 15.
Pet‑related and beverage promos also appeared. Blue Buffalo ran a contest on its website offering a $1,000 pet‑food credit. Kona Ice participated in the annual free shaved‑ice event, and several coffee trucks offered free frozen drinks throughout Tax Day.
