A former actress has accused pop star Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her in Melbourne in 2010. Australian actor Ruby Rose, 40, said the incident occurred at a licensed venue in the city’s central business district and that she had reported the matter to police after making public posts on social media.
Victoria Police confirmed on Wednesday that the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) is conducting a probe into the historical assault. Police officials stated the investigation is ongoing and could not provide further detail at this time.
Perry’s 41‑year‑old representatives declined to comment on the allegations. In a statement earlier in the week, Perry’s team denied the charges, describing the claims as false and noting Rose’s past history of public accusations that have been refuted.
Rose indicated she would no longer speak publicly about the case after completing her reports to the police. The investigation remains active, with no statute of limitations for reporting sexual offences in Victoria.
