Police hunt woman accused of theft at Pembroke Pines Salvation Army shop
Pembroke Pines police are seeking a woman suspected of shoplifting at a Salvation Army store on 888 N. University Drive. The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, around 4:40 p.m. Surveillance footage shows the suspect removing a victim’s purse from a shopping cart and carrying it to a restroom before discarding the empty purse on the floor.
Video analysis indicates the suspect opened the purse and removed its contents. She was described by officers as a white woman in her mid‑to‑late 50s, with blonde hair and a medium build. At the time of the theft she was wearing a black tank top, blue shorts, and flip‑flops.
Residents who witnessed the event or have information are urged to contact Detective Chris Abbey at 954‑743‑1267 or report anonymously to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954‑493‑8477. The police department has not released any statements beyond the description and request for assistance.
