Margate resident admits to authorities following infant abuse claims.

A 29‑year‑old woman from Margate, Florida, appeared at a police station on Monday night after a park walk on Southwest 71st Avenue. The Broward Sheriff’s Office said the woman, identified as Kimberly Stacy Rivera, approached a deputy at about 11 p.m. and admitted she believed she had an active arrest warrant. She was taken to the Broward County Main Jail to surrender.

Rivera’s arrest follows an investigation that began on October 25, 2025, when deputies responded to Broward Health Medical Center after a call from the Department of Children and Families about injuries to Rivera’s infant son. A medical evaluation found a non‑displaced left clavicle fracture, a healing left fourth rib fracture, and probable healed fractures of both radius bones. A superficial mark that might be a bite was also noted.

Detectives reported that Rivera and her fiancé sought medical care that morning after the baby displayed pain and limited movement in his left arm. Rivera initially suggested the injuries could have involved the child’s older brother, citing “rough play,” but later admitted to the deputy that she had squeezed the infant in frustration.

Rivera is currently held without bond on charges of aggravated child abuse and child neglect causing bodily harm. Her case remains under investigation.
