Man arrested after Miami shooting, claims driver tried to strike him with SUV

Miami suspect arrested after alleged SUV assault during shooting.

A 32‑year‑old man was taken into custody on Monday morning after a shooting incident in a Miami parking lot. Authorities say the event occurred on Sunday night around 8:54 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast Miami Court and 71st Street, near 7101 N. Miami Ave. The incident was confirmed by four ShotSpotter gunshot alerts.

Police reports indicate that the suspect, Samuel Saint Remy, called 911 at about 9:00 p.m. to explain that he had fired at a driver who tried to hit him. While responding, officers discovered a victim seated in the driver’s seat of a blue 2020 Nissan Murano with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel rendered care until Miami Fire Rescue arrived.

Detections of a Smith & Wesson handgun and an empty and a full magazine were found on Saint Remy. Surveillance footage shows a verbal confrontation between the suspect and the victim, the victim entering his SUV, and the suspect discharging the gun toward the vehicle while it was stationary. The video was inconclusive about a possible vehicle impact.

Saint Remy was formally charged with attempted second‑degree murder, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and unlawful discharge of a firearm in a public place. He is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center; a bond amount has not yet been set.
