Fort Lauderdale Dog Recovers After Years of Abandonment
A French bulldog that had been severely malnourished was found walking near a Fort Lauderdale animal hospital on Friday, marking a step in its recovery. The dog, named “Miracle,” was previously discovered abandoned behind a Walgreens on Broward Boulevard and had been suffering serious health complications.
After being stabilized, Miracle was placed in a medical foster home where she will continue to receive treatment. The animal rescue organization iHeart Animal Rescue reports that Miracle’s progress shows significant improvement as she has learned to walk again.
Police in Fort Lauderdale are continuing the investigation into the dog’s abandonment. The department has requested public assistance in locating surveillance footage from the area and urges anyone with relevant information to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954‑493‑8477.
