Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Resolve ‘It Ends With Us’ Dispute
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have reached a settlement that ends the lawsuit stemming from the 2024 film It Ends With Us. The agreement was announced Monday after a court‑ordered settlement conference held the previous week. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lively, who appeared in the movie, had filed a federal complaint in December 2024 alleging that Baldoni, the film’s director, engaged in sexual harassment and fostered a hostile work environment. She also claimed that Wayfarer Studios retaliated after she raised concerns. An amended complaint in February detailed claims of inappropriate remarks, unwanted kissing and discussions of Baldoni’s personal conduct.
U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed most of Lively’s allegations in the prior month, allowing only breach‑of‑contract and retaliation claims to proceed to trial. Baldoni has denied the accusations and filed a countersuit citing defamation and extortion, which the judge also rejected.
The parties’ legal teams issued a joint statement expressing a desire to move forward constructively and emphasizing a commitment to workplace safety. The settlement is expected to prevent the trial that had been scheduled for this month.
