Pompano Beach woman alleged to stab boyfriend after clash over racial slur

A 23‑year‑old man was taken to Broward Health North after being stabbed in Pompano Beach on Monday morning. Deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. after the victim was transported from Broward Health North to the scene. The injury was sustained when the victim’s girlfriend, 25‑year‑old Dellisha Guadalupe, used a pocketknife to stab him three times in the chest and shoulder while they were in a bedroom.

The incident began near Cheers Restaurant and Bar in the 1900 block of Northwest 24th Street. An argument escalated after the victim used a derogatory term, according to police reports. The couple later travelled home in an Uber, canceling a ride and boarding the vehicle together. The conflict continued at their apartment where Guadalupe allegedly punched the victim before stabbing him.

Guadalupe was arrested at the scene and is now held at Broward Main Jail without bond. She faces a charge of attempted first‑degree murder. Court orders prohibit her from possessing firearms or other weapons and forbid contact with the victim. Investigators have confirmed that the stabbing was intentional; Guadalupe previously told a dispatcher that the victim had stabbed himself.
