Dozens of rescued chihuahuas arrive at Boca Raton shelter seeking homes

Boca Raton shelter welcomes rescued chihuahuas needing new homes.

The Tri‑County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton recently received dozens of chihuahuas ranging from puppies to seniors, all in need of a new home. The animals were brought to the shelter in search of medical care and a chance to start a new life. Staff are cataloguing each dog’s condition as part of the intake process.

Many of the dogs had never received veterinary services before their arrival. Grooming and basic medical examinations were performed immediately after intake. Some received vaccinations and wellness checks as part of the rescue’s standard protocol.

Paul Motz, a representative of the rescue, described the animals’ living conditions. Several were found in crowded shelters or abandoned homes with limited food and water. The rescue team noted signs of malnutrition and untreated infections in several pets.

The organization’s goal is to place the chihuahuas in permanent, caring homes. Volunteers are conducting health screenings and preparing adoption applications. The rescue is currently seeking foster families for temporary care.

Public members can view the dogs at the Tri‑County Animal Rescue location for scheduled adoption events. The shelter accepts donations and encourages community support. Contact information and visit hours are posted on the rescue’s website.
