Shakira and Burna Boy drop 2026 World Cup anthem “Dai Dai”
FIFA announced on Friday that the 2026 World Cup will have an official soundtrack titled “Dai Dai,” created by Colombian singer Shakira and Nigerian artist Burna Boy. The release follows a teaser clip posted by Shakira earlier in May, which highlighted her past official collaboration for the 2010 South African tournament.
The new track incorporates multilingual chants and references to soccer icons such as Pelé, Maradona, Roberto Maldini, Romário, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Kaká, Kylian Mbappé, Thiago Inostroza, Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, and Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama. Its title, an Italian phrase meaning “come on,” underscores the global theme of the event.
According to FIFA, the song will be widely available on streaming services, and public royalty proceeds will be directed to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The release coincides with other preparations for the tournament, which will run from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The finals scheduled for July 19 in New Jersey will feature a halftime performance led by Madonna, Shakira, and BTS, adding further star power to the event.
