Two Teens Arrested for Stolen BMWs in Miami‑Dade County

Two 17‑year‑old boys from Broward County were moved from a juvenile detention center in that county to a facility in Miami‑Dade on Thursday. The transfers came after the teens were charged with thefts of luxury vehicles that occurred in Coral Gables and Miami Beach.

Franklyn Jones, a Fort Lauderdale resident, and Timothy Flowers, from Coral Springs, are the suspects. Jones turned 17 in February and Flowers turned 17 in September. Police investigations tied the pair to two separate incidents involving BMW vehicles.

One incident involved a black 2025 BMW X7 that was taken from a house on Prairie Avenue on February 10. Another involved a BMW M4 reported stolen in Coral Gables on April 16. Investigators observed the boys in a silver BMW 330i in Boca Raton while they removed a license plate from a Ford and affixed it to the stolen M4.

The teenagers and three others were arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office violent‑crimes division. Charges pending include grand theft and burglary of an occupied dwelling. The case remains under active investigation.
