2 people injured after vehicle hits tree, catches fire

Car smashes into tree, sparking blaze that wounds two.

A vehicle collision with a tree occurred Sunday evening in the Fort Lauderdale area at the intersection of Broward Boulevard and Northwest 15th Avenue. The impact caused the car to ignite. Firefighters from Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue and other responders arrived quickly to extinguish the blaze and provide emergency care. Two adults—a man and a woman—were transported to Broward Health Medical Center as trauma alerts and placed in critical condition. Local authorities closed Broward Boulevard in both directions between Northwest 12th and 15th Avenues to manage the scene. The incident was reported early in the evening. No additional injuries or property damage beyond the vehicle fire have been confirmed at this time. The investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be released by county officials as details emerge.
