Charges dropped against man accused of targeting North Miami Beach home in alleged arson attempts

Police dismiss charges against man linked to North Miami Beach fire plots

Charges were dismissed against a 52‑year‑old North Miami Beach man who had been linked to several alleged arson incidents near a residential property on Northeast 22nd Avenue. Law enforcement first reported a fire on November 12, 2025, when surveillance footage showed the individual briefly igniting bushes outside the 19200 block address. A second incident on March 3 involved the same location, with video indicating the suspect again attempting to set foliage aflame using a lit cigarette or cigar. The homeowner confronted the man and later extinguished the smoldering debris.

Authorities arrested the suspect on April 13 in connection with both events. The Miami‑Dade State Attorney’s Office subsequently dropped all charges, citing a mistake in the filing. Court documents released Monday confirm that both arson and criminal mischief accusations were withdrawn. No further legal action has been taken against the individual, and the matter remains closed with no pending court proceedings.
