Man arrested at Miami marina after refusing to leave yacht; claimed he had permission to be onboard from President Trump

Miami Marina Detains Man Who Refused to Vacate Yacht, citing Trump Permission

At 1:30 p.m. on April 22, Miami police responded to a trespassing complaint at a marina on 1160 Northwest North River Drive. The vessel’s owner reported that a 51‑year‑old Miami resident, Terry Roberts, was aboard without permission.

Roberts refused to leave the yacht and claimed he had approval from former President Donald Trump. The yacht owner, present at the scene, denied granting permission. Officers repeated warnings that refusal would result in arrest, but Roberts persisted, stating only the President could remove him. Police questioned his armed status and held him at Taser point during the detention attempt.

After apprehension, the owner examined the yacht, noting damage to a bedroom door that would cost approximately $3,000 to repair, and reported missing keys. Officers located keys in Roberts’ right pants pocket prior to transport.

Roberts was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and faces burglary, grand theft, and trespassing charges. An $11,150 bond was set. The incident is under investigation, with no further comments from authorities.
