Woman in Broward slaps infant across face

In Pompano Beach, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Ashley Briana Session on Wednesday, May 1, after a confrontation with her former partner over the couple’s child. The incident occurred on April 14 near North Dixie Highway. Session, 32, from Fort Lauderdale, physically struck the baby girl’s face during an altercation.

Court documents indicate the assault caused the infant to cry and exhibit facial redness and swelling. Deputies also note that Session struck the father while he held the baby and a son they share. According to the arrest report, Session had a longstanding animosity toward the infant, who is from the ex’s relationship with a current girlfriend.

Session faces child abuse and battery charges and was released on a $5,500 bond. She is no longer listed in Broward jail records. No additional arrests have been reported.
