Marjory Stoneman Douglas Student Charged Over Campus Brawl

A student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland is facing a battery charge after a fight on Monday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 9:16 a.m. on April 28, 2026, when a confrontation among four students escalated on campus. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the 18‑year‑old suspect, Tavaris Walker, was involved in striking a 17‑year‑old victim, resulting in minor facial bruising.

The victim was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center for medical evaluation. Walker was arrested and later appeared before a Broward County judge. He was released on a $1,000 bond and was not listed in county inmate records by Tuesday evening.

The case remains under the investigation of local authorities, and no further developments have been reported.
